The Panagbenga Festival
The Philippines is rich in culture and attractions and such culture is best exhibited during the celebration of every regions’ festival. In Baguio City the Panagbenga festival is considered as its national festival celebration. This is an annual celebration that means season of Blooming because of the fact that it is during February, when the festival is being celebrated, that flowers in Baguio and Benguet are at its full bloom.
The Panagbenga is a one month celebration that requires a whole year of preparation. This is because the Panagbenga is not only a time for celebration but it is also a time to enjoy Baguio City and its different synergy of cultures. Panagbenga highlights not only the flowers blooming but also the different products and tourist attractions that the City of Baguio and nearby provinces can offer.
The Grand Street Parade and the Grand Float Parade are among the major events where a lot of visitors or tourists are looking forward to. This is because it showcases the talents of the different students in the different schools in Baguio City. Apart from that the parades would also showcase the beautifully made flower floats created and sponsored by the different business establishments in the City of Baguio.
The celebration of the Panagbenga is not only considered to be an annual festival but it is also known as one of Baguio City’s crowd-drawer. With activities like the Street and Float Parades, Fluvial Parade, Session Road in Bloom among other creative activities the Panagbenga is indeed a festival that many residents and tourists alike are looking forward to.
