Baguio Gearing for 102nd Charter Day
Baguio City is Gearing up for its 102nd Charter Day on September 1, 2011. The event is expected to draw crowds from different provinces in the Philippines as the city government of Baguio have prepared several activities from the Opening Parade on September 1 throughout the whole month of September, this is also of course in collaboration with the different private sectors in Baguio City.
In Baguio City, the Baguio Day as everybody has come to know it marks the start of the annual influx of tourists. This is because of the fact that the charter day falls on a September and it is followed by the other “ber” months which is thought to be the coldest months in Baguio City, the city of Baguio is known for its cool climate, a winter paradise in a tropical country.
For this year’s 102nd Charter Day, if everything falls into place, the opening event is going to be graced by no other than the 8 division world boxing title holder and the Saranggani Congressman Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao. According to the latest announcement made by the Baguio City Mayor, Congressman Manny Pacquiao expressed interest in attending the Baguio Day especially that this date coincides with the start of his training for his November bout with Juan Manual Marquez. It is known that Congressman Manny Pacquiao always launches his training camp in Baguio City because of the altitude and the weather.
