Anticipating the huge volume of people who will be watching the Panagbenga 2013 Grand Float Parade i had to be there early, but not that early, i heard some were already there at around 3 in the morning. Since i am only interested in taking photos of the floats I asked the taxi driver to bring us to the Victory liner station at Engineers hill. The reason for this is that most of the floats are lined up at that part of Upper Session Road from the area fronting the APO Park up to the Caltex Station.
Unfortunately, after taking few snapshots i had to go from the Nardas Area to APO park however the huge volume of people occupying the sidewalks made it impossible for me to walk towards that area, since the parade hasn’t started yet i was able to walk beyond the yellow line and found a spot across the street from APO park. I stayed there for a while until I realized that my vantage point was not the best one since i get to shoot spectators’ heads and hands so i gave up my position and went back to the road adjacent to the gate of the Supreme Court Compound. By the time I got back the guest actors were already aboard the floats specifically the cast of ABS-CBN’s Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw.
By doing this i was able to take photos of those in front of the Parade as well as the ones behind, without having to stay under the sun. With almost 2.2 Million people watching the parade along the main streets of Baguio City taking photos is enough for now to experience the parade.
Here are Some Photos I Took During the Parade
