“Chestnuts roasting on an open fire, jackfrost nipping at your nose” , looks like we are starting to feel the coming of Christmas in Baguio City. After checking the weather via the PAGASA website i was surprised to see that the forecast temperature at a low is 15 degrees Celsius or 59 degrees Fahrenheit. This prompted me to check my weather app via my smartphone and i was surprised to see it register 16 degrees Celsius!
It seems that the temperature is dropping as the yuletide season approaches. This is a great time for us in Baguio to start bringing out our thick jackets and blankets and bonnets too! in order to avoid that annoying headache caused by the cold temperature. While we’re at it we might as well purchase some knitted gloves at Maharlika Livelihood Center to keep our hands warm.
This is also a perfect time to enjoy a cup of hot coffee or tea, Baguio has lots of coffee shops and tea shops but nothing will ever replace that familiar scent of Benguet coffee beans that was grinded and brewed, it’s authentic distinct taste and aroma will definitely give you that warmth and morning perk that you need to start or continue your day.
The drop in temperature in Baguio City also means that cough and colds will once again affect our health, but the best part about this is we can prevent this by drinking warm freshly squeezed lemon or “dayap” juice mixed with water and our favorite honey that is harvested from the different bee farms in Baguio and Benguet.
It is definitely another exciting time for Baguio City as the cold weather starts to creep in! This is the perfect time to visit the City of Pines! Or the perfect time to start brewing your favorite tea or coffee!
