We were looking for a place to eat and thought we should try the Mediterranean place at Outlook drive. However, we went there on a Monday, apparently, the restaurant is closed on Mondays. Without having to disembark the taxi we asked the driver to bring us to Ketchup Food Community instead since that is the nearest one we could think of given our grumbling tummies and dizzying 20-minute taxi ride.
Taking the Turn
The taxi driver decided to take the Villamor Street road going to Ketchup Food Community and we were very glad that it did because we passed by what looked like a new Hotel in Baguio City. Further down the road, we saw the sign Kamiseta Hotel and Vanilla Cupcake Bakery. We have heard so much about the latter being one of the newest cafes in Baguio City. So we decided to eat dessert there after we have our lunch at Ketchup.
Vanilla Cupcake Bakery Baguio
Lunch was filling that we decided to walk going to Vanilla Cupcake Bakery, it’s just about 10 minutes walk depending on your speed but what I can say is it is doable. It is a good exercise too and a necessary calorie burning activity before you gobble up the yummy treats that Vanilla Cupcake Bakery would offer. Upon entering the gates you have to enter the Kamiseta Hotel to access Vanilla CupCake Bakery. The best part is that you will be treated to a “wonderland” interior. I thought that only the cafe was designed to be a colorful wonderland but apparently it was the entire hotel. From huge glass mirrors, nice chandeliers and colorful wallpapers, the hotel, and the cafe will surely give anyone a huge eye candy.
Vanilla Cupcake Bakery is located at the lower part of the building. Upon entering the building just look for the narrow stairs going to the Bakery found on your left. We could not stress it enough that the interior is really cool! I personally love the colors and the chairs!
The Cupcakes at Vanilla
The Cupcakes looks yummy from the cheesecakes, lava cupcakes and the candy themed flavored cupcakes. Everything looks awesome. However, the cupcakes are quite pricey for my pocket. We decided to taste their vanilla cupcake and the lava cupcake which are priced each at P98.00 apiece. The icing is not too sweet, the cupcakes were delicious.
Vanilla Cupcake Bakery also offers meals however we were not able to try it out since we just had our lunch. However, this might be a good excuse for us to give this place another visit another time.
Things to Consider
Vanilla Cupcake Bakery in Baguio City opened just recently, and we could tell that the cafe is really new by the quality of service that their staff provided. The staff were friendly, however, service was very slow. We ordered two cupcakes to go and it took us more than 20 minutes to complete the transaction and we were the only ones in line, apart of course from the diners who were seated. This is always the case when the establishment is new, we understand that the staff is still trying to know their way around the kitchen so to speak. So let us give them the benefit and spare them especially the staff from negative remarks about their service, for now. We do hope that in the part of the management their service would improve if it hasn’t already from our last visit. Still, we would recommend checking out Vanilla Cupcake Bakery and have a cupcake or two and enjoy a relaxing ambiance.
